On the peaceful night of October 1rst, 2011, sounds of the undead began infesting the quiet streets of the Autoban Park Garden District in Winter Park, FL. With the deathly moans growing ever-louder, packs of vicious blood-thirsty zombies replicated at an exponential rate. Finding refuse in a small pop-up gallery hosted by the courageous clothing company, Mother Falcon, the citizens of Central Florida came up with a plan. By changing their appearance and applying special effects make-up, many of the fearless locals were able to blend right into the backdrop of Mother Falcon’s new show, “Zombies 2,” which opened that very eve. Artists present at the event, including Scott Scheidly, Johanna O’Donnell, Morgan Wilson, and Cake led the charge to take back what once was theirs. After several hours of art, beer, live music, and food trucks, the killer zombies were eradicated, and the citizens of Winter Park, FL were safe once again. The remainder of the night was spent in a celebration of dancing, karaoke, and zombie walks, appropriately referred to as Zombietoberfest 2011.
