Andrew Young

Creating art that focuses on lost and found adolescence, Canadian painter Andrew Young pieces together his work by using a solid mixture of hyperrealism and abstract techniques to depict the delicate balance between order and chaos. These techniques mixed with Young’s youthful, unadulterated subject matter form a cohesive look into the the eye of juvenility. Check out some examples of Young’s work below.

Ana Bagayan

Born in 1983 in the Armenian capital Yerevan, pop surrealist Ana Bagayan now lives in Los Angeles, CA and creates wonderful paintings full of metaphorical adolescence and innocence. Bagayan’s smooth blending and soft renderings give her work a realistic look while still maintaining a surreal quality embedded deep in her character’s eyes and their surroundings. Bagayan is currently working on a new body of work which she will exhibit at a solo show held at the Thinkspace Gallery in 2012.
